- Aziderm 20% Cream is probably safe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.
- Expert advice:
- Do not use azelaic acid for more than 12 months at any time.Do not take if you are allergic to azelaic acid or any of its ingredients. Before applying the cream/gel, clean the skin thoroughly with plain water and pat it dry. Azelaic acid is for external use on the skin only. Do not allow azelaic acid to come in contact with your eyes, mouth or other inner skin layer (mucous membranes). If it does, wash immediately with cool water. Inform your doctor if you have asthma before using azelaic acid. Tell your doctor if you are or planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.

- Application site burning, Application site pain, Application site itching.

- This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.
